AFTER A SIXTEEN-YEAR ABSENCE, THE 1984 OLYMPICS IN LOS ANGELES WERE A LANDMARK MOMENT THAT BROUGHT MUCH-NEEDED ATTENTION TO INDOOR VOLLEYBALL SEEING ITS MEN’S AND WOMEN’S TEAMS BRING HOME GOLD AND SILVER, RESPECTIVELY.
AS A RESULT OF THESE VICTORIES AND IN OBVIOUS CONJUNCTION WITH WHERE THE MEDALS WERE WON, PROFESSIONAL BEACH VOLLEYBALL WOULD SOON REAP THE BENEFITS. VOLLEYBALL, AS A COLLECTIVE SPORT, HAD FINALLY GOTTEN THE RECOGNITION IT NEEDED TO FLOURISH.
